Dental Crowns in Brighton, Melbourne
If you’re searching for trusted dental crowns in Brighton, Lifestyle Smiles offers premium porcelain crown solutions designed to restore the strength, function, and appearance of damaged teeth. Our experienced crown dentists in Brighton treat a wide range of cases – from teeth with significant structural loss and cracked teeth through to post-root canal restorations – and will tailor a treatment plan around your specific clinical needs.
The suitability of a porcelain crown and its longevity varies between patients and should be determined through a comprehensive dental examination and discussion of treatment options.
Did you know that you can walk away with a new porcelain crown within 2 hours from start to finish? Please visit our CEREC page to find out more.
Why Brighton Patients Choose Our Porcelain Dental Crowns?
Whilst CEREC can produce an immediate dental crown for you in such a short space of time, there are still times we do porcelain crowns the traditional way.
- If the colour matching the adjacent tooth is challenging
- If we want to place a temporary crown on the tooth for a short period of time to see if the toothache goes away
- If you’re also having porcelain veneers on other teeth and we are doing everything together.
In the above situations, we will require you to complete the process in 2 visits.
Your Dental Crown Journey at Our Brighton Clinic Step by Step
Porcelain Crown Preparation
At the initial visit, you will be comfortably seated in our dental chair and choose your favourite Spotify music or Netflix show to watch before beginning the procedure. This visit will usually take about 60 minutes in duration, and we want you to have the best dental experience, especially if you are anxious about your dental visits.
Our experienced crown dentist in Brighton will then numb you up to ensure you have a painless dental experience. A thin layer of your old dental filling and/or tooth will be trimmed away to create an adequate space to best support your porcelain crown. During this process, all the dental infections and bacteria will be removed to ensure the tooth is healthy.
Once completed, we will take a digital 3D mould or impression of the tooth. This will be sent to our dental laboratory, where our master dental ceramist will create a customised porcelain crown in readiness for your next appointment.
During the waiting period, you will be issued a temporary crown, which will be cemented onto the tooth before the end of the appointment.
Porcelain Crown Cementation
Once the crown is glued onto the tooth our experienced dentist will adjust the bite, shape and size to ensure the final porcelain crown fits perfectly, looks great and functions like a normal tooth. This visit is usually 30-40min for a single tooth.
